Sharp Energy corners the market when it comes to designing, building and servicing community gas systems ™ (CGS™). There are two types of residential propane distribution systems, the Community Gas System and the Cluster Tank System (CTS).
The CGS™ serves entire subdivisions or commercial centers from a central fuel storage facility through looped gas mains, very similar to natural gas distribution systems. CTS utilize multiple fuel storage locations scattered throughout a subdivision to service small groups or "clusters" of customers.
Here are some of the advantages of Community Gas and Cluster Tank Systems:
- No individual propane tanks at each home site.
- Reduces or eliminates propane delivery trucks in the neighborhood.
- Systems are designed and installed to meet rigid safety standards.
- DOT certified gas professionals operate and maintain the system.
- Monthly statements for metered usage are sent to homeowners.
- Customers avoid large bills from periodic tank fill-ups.
- Future conversion, should natural gas become available, is easy.
- Propane distribution systems improve profits for builders through up-selling of gas equipment not included in a standard appliance package.
- They are governed by your state's public service commission
