Stovetop Valentine’s Day Skillet Cookie

Dont let the loveliest day of the year go by without making this warm and gooey stovetop skillet cookie. It is easy enough to do alone or with your partner or kids. Theres no baking necessary and you get to create sweet memories together.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: sprinkles or other toppings

Directions 

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  2. Heat your burner on high and place a skillet on the burner. Add the butter and stir gently until browned.
  3. Stir in both the brown and granulated sugars until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the skillet mixture, stirring quickly to combine.
  5. Turn the burner to low and mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and any additional toppings.
  7. Pat the dough down so its even and reaches all edges of the skillet. Cover with aluminum foil and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Once the edges are golden brown, remove the foil and serve warm. Slice and enjoy on its own or pair with ice cream.
